SCASA


Small Contractors Association of South Africa (SCASA) is a non-profit organisation  registered in terms of section 14 of the Company Act 71, 2008, to represent small contractors in South Africa as to enable them to participate in today’s economic and thereby creating job opportunities for all.


WESTERN CAPE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS


The Department of Human Settlements is responsible for developing sustainable integrated human settlements in the Western Cape.


ABSA ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT

SARS


The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is the nation’s tax collecting authority.  Established in terms of the South African Revenue Service Act 34 of 1997 as an autonomous agency, SARS is responsible for administering the South African tax system and customs service.

AIM OF THE PARTNERSHIP

 

  • To uplift and empower small contractors in South Africa through training, finance and capacity building.

WHO IS THE SMALL CONTRACTOR?

 

 

  • A company that has a CIDB grading of 1 to 5.
  • A company that is owned by previously disadvantaged individuals or group (PDI’s) and women.
  • A company that is owned by a physically disabled person(s).


ROLE OF THE PARTNERS


SCASA:

 

 

  • To facilitate and manage projects to ensure that material ordered is used for building purposes on the running project and nothing else.
  • To assist contractors on the claim processes as to make sure that all relevant suppliers and labourers are paid on time.
  • To oversee that both Material Supplier and Contractors relationship is kept in a good and professional manner at all times as to maintain the smoothness running of each project.
  • To assist contractors in drafting construction programmes and make sure that they are abide by them.


WESTERN CAPE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENT:

 

 

  • Accelerate the provision of housing opportunities, including the prioritisation of serviced sites. Inculcate a sense of ownership, rights and responsibility amongst housing beneficiaries, tenants and Owners.
  • Provide a fairer allocation of housing
  • Optimal use of resources and partnerships
  • Introduce a co-ordinated approach to human settlement planning through effective integrated development planning
  • Fully functional department capacitated to deliver services


ABSA ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT:

 

 

  • To manage the holding accounts and make sure that all relevant parties i.e. Material Suppliers (BUCO) and Labourers are paid before the money is released to the contractor.
  • To provide capital loan funding if required to contractors to pay for initial labour and site establishment fees.
  • To provide training to small contractors.


CASH BUILD HARDWARE:

 

 

  • To supply material to all projects from start to finish.
  • To facilitate product training to small contractors via their suppliers.
  • To deliver material on time
  • To supply quality material that is approved by the SABS in South Africa


SARS:

 

  • To provide training and advice to our members on all matters relating to business tax, personal tax etc.
